Wood professionals are increasingly appreciating the use of wood treatment products in gel form.
What is a gel product?
These products are thick emulsions, generally white in colour. An emulsion consists of dispersing two liquids that are immiscible under normal conditions.
A product in gel form with multiple benefits:
- It does not drip when applied to roof structures. It adheres to the surface and penetrates easily into the wood, limiting the damage that can be caused to the floor
- Its high diffusion power, thanks to the presence of a co-solvent, means that it can be used for in-depth treatment of the wood
- white in colour, it ensures that the entire structure is covered at the time of construction and application.
- saves time: as a preventive or curative treatment, a simple surface application, usually by spraying, can be used to treat a structure quickly and effectively. In exceptional cases, injection treatment may be required for large cross-section timbers or where masonry is embedded.
Treatment with a product in gel form therefore only takes a few hours, allowing you to move on to a new job quickly.
