As a key player in the preservation of building materials, the Groupe Berkem talks to you today about XILIX® TERMISOL BS, an innovative, high-performance solution for providing masonry in buildings with impenetrable protection against termites.
Wood-eating insects par excellence, termites are formidable predators of homes and wooden structures. These social insects, which feed on the cellulose contained in wood, are constantly on the lookout for food, which they can find in abundance, particularly in joinery and structural wood.
There are two types of termites:
Subterranean termites are by far the most damaging to human habitation, as they can burrow through the masonry of a house to gain silent access to the wooden joinery, providing the perfect food source for the colony.
Faced with this risk, it’s important to protect your home from subterranean termites with appropriate solutions.
To provide an effective and efficient solution to subterranean termites, Berkem has developed the XILIX® TERMISOL BS solution. This treatment is applied to masonry.
XILIX® TERMISOL BS is a super-concentrated aqueous microemulsion which is used diluted at 2% in water. This high-performance, innovative solution has been recognised and validated by various independent accredited experts in the field and in the laboratory. This formula has also proved effective in areas heavily infested with termites.
XILIX® TERMISOL BS is so effective because its formula includes two biocidal molecules that repel subterranean termites. These unique properties make it highly effective against termites and reduce the risk of termite resistance. Once applied to the masonry of a house, XILIX® TERMISOL BS is effective for 5 years in floors and walls.
XILIX® TERMISOL BS can be used to treat both masonry and floors. This creates a double barrier that protects an entire building from subterranean termites. In addition, XILIX® TERMISOL BS is compatible with many wall drying products from the XILIX Blockaqua range.
